  • Hello from Myrtle Beach, SC

Hi, husband and I are new to camping all together although both our parents were retired and campers. Here we are now, late 50 somethings just bought our very first camper. We have a 2016 Montana 3720 legacy and towing with a 2016 Ford 350 diesel King Ranch. We are definitely the "Blonde" leading the blind. Never having towed ANYTHING before, we are trying to learn how to drive and most importantly how to back-up a 40' monster with great difficulty. It is our desire to retire in a year for the most part and travel in it 6 months and be home 6 months. Hoping to find others such as a camping group or club in our area to meet like minded enthusiasts with a sense of humor. Can ya help a sister out? Lol

From central Arkansas, welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your new RV and upcoming retirement. We've all been in your shoes at one time, so don't get in a rush and y'all will have it down pat before you know it. There are lots of knowledgeable folks here that are always willing to help. Again, welcome.

Welcome from NC! We have a professional driver trainer in our membership, just ask Jim Fischer. You could also go to a large parking lot such as a coliseum and practice. Just enjoy the learning.

Welcome from full timers currently in South Dakota. We also have a 2016 3720RL Legacy. We started full timing five years ago with no prior camping experience. Most everything we learned came from asking questions on forums like this one. Enjoy.

Welcome! We are so glad you have joined us and our pro, Jim Fischer, can help you out a lot. It would be great if you could take his class!

We are on the other end of the scale and have been doing this for many moons, with my husband farming and backing equipment since he was a kid so it came naturally...... so you will find all stages of RVers here willing to help you, many who started just like you are later in life!

You are going to love this life!
