ATTENTION!!! National Interstate is removing itself from the RV insurance field!!

We just got a letter dated 13 Oct 17 from National Interstate stating that they are getting out of the RV insurance field. I called them this morning and was told we should be getting an offer from Safeco who has been assigned to take over those RV policies. Safeco has no record of our offer and our policy with National Interstate expires 29 Dec 17. This is becoming quite a pain. They are trying to track down our paperwork and supposedly will call us back asap. If you have National Interstate RV insurance (which we love) please check with Safeco for your new offer or contact a new company.

Well after a month of calls we finally got a package from Safeco who is supposed to take the place of the National Interstate policy.. They shouldn't have even bothered, these clowns are strictly Auto insurers. They have no coverage for awnings or slide toppers or anything not installed by the manufacturers. They WILL NOT cover full timers. So we are back on the hunt again. Getting close to the final date of Dec 29 for the old policy.. Not that I have anything else to do.. GRRRR!! I just got off the phone with USAA and Progressive. USAA sends RV folks to Progressive. We got a quote that covers most of the stuff that National Interstate covered except we have to start over with the decreasing deductible and they only cover rig for cash value instead of full replacement. $400.00 ain't bad for a year but sure miss the old coverage. Almost makes me want to dump the rig and stay home..
