This is the replacement of one of the outer seal on the bedroom slide.

    Hi

You will find the narrative under the full size pictures. Pictures
This is the first indication of the problem On further inspection I found the outer slide seal had deteriorated. The first thing you need to do is purchase the seal that fits your Montana.
This is for our 2009 Next remove the three screws on the bottom corner molding. The screw with the circle aroung it is longer and needs to be put back in the same location Next is to remove this screw in the upper corner molding. Then you can slide the seal down untill it is removed. Note what groov it comes out of. Clean the groove as required. Then insert a small screw driver or something similar between the lower and side molding so the upper one is pushed out so your new seal will not catch on the lower one when you insert it. Be careful not to bend the upper molding Finished installation of the outer seal.

Thanks for the write up Phil. Looks easy enough. So the slide end caps hold the weather stripping in place.

      Hi

Yes the end cap is molded with the inside corner so it fits even with the long molding the seal slides into.

Then on top of that the screw removed from the top one engages the seal even more. I would say they have found in the past that the weight of the seal over time would cause the seal to slide down away from the top. That screw engages the seal on all of the corners.

On a different subject I find when writing about the wood trim used in houses is sold as Moulding and then when you look up metal casing processes they spell the word Mold in some text and mould in other text.

When researching the words I fine they are the same meaning the word mould is the British spelling of mold.

Isn’t the English language an amazing thing? LOL

        PS:

I made straight "As" in spelling in school but being cursed with a photo memory I came away without the ability to spell even simple words so I rely on spell check and that can lead to some hilarious results.
