    Dometic thermostat troubles

I have been having troubles with my thermostat. Furnace would start when supposed to be off and was difficult to set. I called Dometic and told the lady about my problems. She had me take the faceplate off and touch the contacts with my finger to set it and it started to work fine. She is sending new faceplates for main and bedroom thermostats. The problem is with the foam insulation in the faceplate.Good thing I have it working as it is going to be quite a bit below freezing tonight here in TX.

Mine does not read outside temp. I would like to know where the sensor is located to replace it.

They do NOT read the outside temp. on the thermostats. These thermostats are designed solely for the heating/ac units interior temps of the coach they are installed on.

That's what I thought. But I was sure. Thanks for posting.

According to the owners manual for mine, the outside temp sensor is in one of the A/C unit housing. And it is supposed to read outside temp. Has a button for it on the panel.

Interesting, mine says nothing about that, again I learned something new today! Can you please enlighten me, what make/model of coach do you have and also what A/C unit does it have on it? Maybe it is something specific to other models than mine. I have the Dometic units with the heat pump in main unit.

I have a 2012 3582RL and the control panel is a Dometic Control Center 2. I have dual 15,000 BTU ducted A/C's (factory). I don't know where the sensor is.
